Hi if I got a new Interceptor and fitted the luggage on the accessories pages would it be a good idea to get new rear shocks
Someone told me i'd need them but i don't know

Strap something of a similar weight to what you expect be carrying to the back and check the static sag at both ends. If you can't get it into the correct ballpark, you'll need uprated shocks or springs.

thanks for that - seems good idea - but wouldn't it need someone who's got these things on their Interceptor to know what the ride on the road will be affected by the extra luggage

Not really. Broadly speaking, if the sag is right, the ride will be near enough right, or within tweaking distance in any case.

It's how they worked out what springs to fit to it in the first place.

I weigh 200 # with bags / beer rack / tent etc. 2019 orange crush Seattle-Sumpter OR-Shoshone ID and back, stock shocks one notch above softest setting- no problem
