Hi pleased be warned,I have today received an email giving the impression it is from the DVLA and is advising about a SORN violation, the email looks really good but crucially does not quote a reg number ,just a long meaningless reference number.I suggest you do as I did and delete it.

Regards. Colin

Hi, one advantage of not including your name in email address is that these scams are easily identified. Got one from HMRC commencing . Dear scrungebutt......... (Not my email address but you get the idea). Vince

Possibly should be under Social not technical.... but anyway... I work in IT and had a cracker come to work to many staff purporting to be from HMRC

It was a cracker because....

It did come from an HMRC email address
Every link within the body and header was genuine. If you clicked any link including the email links, they went to HMRC.

The only bit that was, erm... amended/read dodgy, was the submit button. That went to the bad people.
