i wish to fit a side/ prop stand has anyone fitted a non standard one successfully, off another make of bike perhaps?? d

Besides taking Indian centre stands the later RE frames can be used with Indian side stands, eg Samrat accessory ones, though you will probably need a longer 1/2" hex footrest bar than the one that's in there, and possibly a slightly longer 3/8" BSC through stud. I have these on my Redditch framed bitsas with Indian Bullet footrests.

Personally I would not use an Indian one, I don’t think they are strong enough for a big heavy twin. Use an Interceptor one, see Parts Books Online, which will fit directly onto your bike with no modification. Richard
