Hello Martin, I did the same thing when up-dating the clutch cable mod at the gearbox end and replaced the old type with the new type of cable.There is a nut under the clutch lever which locks the bolt which is tapped into the lever unit. If you assume all you have to do is to unscrew the pivot bolt from the top the stepped bolt will snap if you do not remove the lock nut. This is hidden away underneath the lever and requires a thin wall 1/4 drive socket to remove. I managed to make a new one from a bolt I had and reduced the stepped part by filing down the bolt and used a die to cut the new thread.This is not rocket science as you can get tap and die sets from Aldi which even inludes the correct tapping drills if you need to tap any new threads.
Off next Monday 3rd September on the Enfield with four friends up to Fort William for 4 nights and planning to visit Applecross via the great motorcycle road which in English is named. The Pass of Cattle.
Our average age is 70 years so it is never too late to get out on the Enfield.
Buying a new lever from our host is not a bad idea as a minor drop of the bike can also break the lever or clamp. Best to not tighten them up too tight so they can move in this event. Hope you get things sorted out.
