The dealers are pretty good Dennis, they've been very helpful with a few minor niggles, and to be honest, the slipping spindle was pretty hard to spot and not something they've seen before. I think they're dealing with a product that lots of people want but where the quality control is a bit iffy back in India. They're flying out of the showrooms apparently and there is a waiting list. Apparently the importers want any failed components back so they can find out why they've failed, which I suppose says something.

Update to the sliding spindle mystery...
Lola went in to have a replacement spindle and right hand fork end today (under warranty). The fork end now grips the spindle fine (the old spindle and new both have an outside diameter of 20mm, so they were fine), BUT, guess what the new fork end has? An 8mm pinch bolt and not a 6mm pinch bolt. Having read on a few Indian forums that owners were drilling out the 6mm pinch bolts and replacing them with 8mm due to the 'sliding fork-end' problem, it seems that this has now been adopted as a valid engineering tweak. The new fork end also has a mysterious extra protruding tab on the inner side which the mechanic reckoned was likely to be for some forthcoming change to the speedo mechanism on the hub.
