Yes, Swiss A359 Condors had some paint on them which I think had aluminium in...

Hi GUys-----yes, silver would appear to be the norm but like all fleet-owned vehicles after a while each different workshops tend to apply whatever paint is available.......and then there is the matter of the individual rider's tastes as it were............My own WD-B40 from a few years ago had a black exhaust whereas my friend Myles exhaust has a well-earned mixture of silver and RUST !!..........I belong to Rugeley Model Engineering Society in Staffs and one of our elder members actually worked at Armoury Road building the WD B40 bikes.....He tells me that the bikes left BSA painted in a Fern Green but were soon re-painted by the receiving Regiment's Workshops in a sort of Drab Olive ( No--not her from On the Buses !! )..............If I can find a heat-resistant silver paint then I'll change my exhaust..Image

The original factory green for the army B40s was quite an attractive colour which I never quite matched, deep bronze (Landrover) green looked OK but wasn't quite it, too dark (my army B40 project is long gone). I had heard that the "silver" exhausts were matt chrome similar to the bars and headlamp rim, but I will take Vince's advice.

VHT ceramic coating is becoming popular for exhausts, you might find someone who can offer matt silver as well as black.

I note the BSA Fleetstar tank on that B40 Alan, sadly good army B40 tanks were often plundered for the cult of the Gold Star replica. Even sadder was to overhear some trader who'd bought a nice complete running army B40 at Netley Marsh a few years ago verbally break it down for spares to another bloke, for a nice profit of course. He'd paid £800 for the bike (I'd also overheard the purchase) but was prepared to sell it to me for £1100. No sale.

Sorry Wayne, my fault, I think we'd better give you your topic back, or take this to a different forum. Where were we? BULLETS! Yes!!!

Wayne, have you got a list, or is there a list on Mid-shires saying which year bullets you have and haven't got so far? Then I can ask my lot if they have any and want to go...

Scalyback, please try and rally as many Bullet owners as you can - regardless of year, I am sure we will get loads of one year - and none of others! The grey area will be the early Indian models I fear, but the more the merrier.

Will do. I have it in events and will repost it every so often especially nearer the time. I have a sneaking suspicion that you might need an extra burger van?

How did the pub trip go last night?, The guy from Mid-shires mentioned you were with him. :-)
