The photo you have posted Gwilly is an old one. My engine is highly tuned now, and as part of the upgrade, I had to loose the starter motor, and covert my gearbox back to a right foot gear change. Boy am I glad I got rid of the starter motor and sprag clutch. They are very heavy. So was pointless keeping the starter solenoid. I relocated the dc reg and rec in air flow, as well as the AC reg in air flow. So I removed the starter solenoid, yesterday, as it was dead weight. I'm pretty confident the way it is wired is the way it is suppose to be. The other guys that have been helping, based there info off a North America/Canada wiring diagram, and explained what could happen if there was current passing through the black and white wire at the wrong time and if it was connected to the wrong place. They went through the various scenarios. They suggested I check with a volt meter and I did. Eventually when I did the tests correct I found out according to them it is wired the right way. The thing is the previous owner had rearranged my electrics a little, and the wiring has been changed, like some of the connections behind the battery are no longer in a block but directly joined. Like the white and black wire being connected to the red black wire, there is no block, and from what I can tell, it is just those two wires joined together.

Also Gwilly the photo you posted, is when the bike was running a Eureka Electronic ignition.
