One last point, and this is aimed at all you people trying to save a buck while fueling up....DON'T! Use only quality name brand gasolines, mid-grade or premium. Regular (low octane) pump gas is for chain saws, lawn mowers and snow blowers. No, you won't hole a piston under normal riding conditions. Also, once a year I toss in a quantity of Yamaha Ring Free Fuel Additive (made by Chevron), just making the sure ratio is right for the gas tank capacity. That, plus a better and properly gapped spark plug will generally solve a lot of performance issues without any tweaking, rejetting or other home remedies.
