I used to secretly make hydrogen and explode it at home as a kid. A bowl of water, and empty coffee jar and the transformer from my Hornby were all I needed. I'm lucky I escaped unscathed!
Just another small point; it is very difficult to power a car or bike purely by burning hydrogen, as the flash point is too low. Once the exhaust valve gets hot, you get constant pre-ignition. You would have to cool the valve in some way, or perhaps experiment with 2-stroke or one of those engines beginning with W that the message board will not accept (though the latter run pretty hot). Or even a Sterling or steam engine!
I think that's why most practical hydrogen vehicles use fuel cell technology.
