@Maturin, Dealer agrees Brembo and large disc was not absolutely necessary, but he got them years ago in a sale and they look the dogs cahooners. I just did a 300km ride through some of the lower Swiss alps last weekend. My new warp free front disc coped very well, but I would feel happier if I could get the rear to be more effective. Also used Heidenaur on the front and it was very grippy. After another 10k's it still looked good as new. @Roeland - You are a bit confusing, you bought a new EFI, but refer to having no Lamda sensor and a PAV. Does not sound at all like an EFI. Perhaps you could clarify this. In theory, the lambda sensor tells the ECU what is the o2% in the exhaust and then the ecu takes note of other parameters and adjusts the fuel injection to achieve the correct stochiometric ratio. I understand that with the Dyno Commander, the lambda sensor is redundant, but I do not yet understand what adjustment the user can make. My current preference is to only fit the Hitchcock larger down tube and a tailor made German silencer that achieves great sound and looks better with the the Dyno Commander. South African and Indian bikes come without the Lamba sensor. The EFI engines are provide with an PAV system wich adds air to the exhaust after the exhaust valves closes. This dilutes the remaining fuel and basically fools the emission controls. I installed an after market type lamda sensor with "Autotune" kit wich allows mapping of the AFR and on the run adjustments. This kit is connect the the Power commander.

I agree - first price would be the Heidenau K34's - pitty they only come in 19 inch - I need an 18 inch for the rear.

Hi trevorch,
can you give me please the details for the Brembo 320mm floating disc and a new Brembo 4 cylinder caliper with 15mm diameter pistons.
And/or a contact to the german dealer?
Then I can contact him directly for the details.
There are a lot of problems with these front break disk on EFIs, so would be fine to have a better replacement.

For the rear you can get a break disk kit as well, but I don`t know what TÃœV says about this (you are in Germany right?)
I will do it on my new EFI classic chrome. Its easy here in India. For the next 2 -3 years I am in Bangalore, and here it is no problem.

I got the big bore kit and power commander V this week from UK, and now will get Autotune too.
Will some changes on the bike like a bigger back tire. 140 will fit with a suspension which I got from Delhi.
Just looking for a 4.00 x 18 rim.

My dealer only gave me the following information on his system :-

Brake disc 320mm diameter with floating connection

Caliper is with 4 pistons, each 15mm diameter.

He was able to use the original forks and bolted the calliper on directly as per normal EFI.

I would like to know something more about the rear brake disc kit. By the way I live in Switzerland, close to the German border.

you can find the disk brake kit on RoyalEnfieldZone.com. Its in Delhi.
I am just busy to find somebody here in Bangalore to do the job for me.
This week I will meet a guy how can organise the parts here for me.
There are diffrent versions.
One with original disk from Enfield and some other brands.
The guy in Delhi has a disk from another bike.
But I like to have the original from Enfield. Easier to find spare parts.
Is there a way to contact you directly? skype? Facebook?

Which dealer is it in Germany. It would be the easiest way to get infos. Here in India, I am sure its useless to try but I will. And Brembo Germany will know nothing about it.

@Roeland: I´m running a K44 front and K34 aft combination that I´d recommend. I´ve leaned that the C5 runs a 2.15 rim on the rear, that means theoretically you could run a 4.00 - but that´ll be a tight fit with the chain guard. Anyways, there is a 3.25-18/3.50-18-K34 combo from Heidenau wich would suit the C5 very well, methinks. Look here: http://www.reifenwerk-heidenau.de/modul ... t=2&rtyp=9
No idea if you can get them in SA, but they´re existing!
@odenko: I´m really surprised about your troubles with your front disc, could you describe some details? I´m just curious because my fron disc is working exeptionally well. The rear drum is quite sensible to adjusting and works much better when the pads are centered while fitting. I also suspect that there are better alternatives to the stock pads, but after 20´km mine are at 50% strength - obviously I don´t really need it... Best regards

Hi Maturin,
for the moment I don`t have problems with my break disk.( My EFI is just 6 weeks old)
But you hear sometimes that there is a problem with these.
I think after some full breaks it happens that break disk is distorted, because there is just a disk on one side and the enfield fork is not so strong. And sometimes its moving to much on one side.
You can stop that a little bit with a fork brace (hitchcock). I will see how much this helps.
I just looking for another option like this Brembo Breaks, for the future. You never know.

I don't believe that EFI discs distort due to heavy use, since the disc is heated evenly on both sides and round the circumference as it rotates. I just had my disc replaced under warranty after 5,000km and last weekend did over 300km in the Swiss Alps. A lot of long and heavy braking, but no sign of distortion. I think the original problem could be traced back to the manufacturing process, not to normal use. I also do not think any blame can be attached to the forks either. My dealer who uses the Brembo disc on his machine, has standard forks. Cheers TrevorCH
