Very impressive figures gents, but that is only ever half the story--isn't it ??........Now in order to get the full picture we also need to see the Warranty work return figures and then balance them as a cost against those sales.......ie}-- They'll be diluting the profit margin...
Hi Wayne---- In part-quoting me you forgot to mention the valve head drops..(One was actually shown as it happened via you-tube and posted on this forum within the last 9 months) and then there are those primary chain rollers that decided to take a "Walk on the Wild side"... This was posted on here within just the last MONTH !! ....You know very well what I'm getting at and it's the same old story time and time again, isn't it ??}----It's Enfield ( India)'s bogie man---QUALITY CONTROL, or the apparent lack of it.........While we are dragging up the past let's re-visit the Honda GC125 saga...........Remember how the Brazilian made ones were falling far behind in quality to the home market ones ?---- Snapped down tubes comes to mind in particular.....Honda H/Q put a hit team together and packed them off to the Brazil factory ( and the lesser Turkish one as well) with orders to "Kick bottoms" until the problems were eventually sorted out...........which they were.
It might have only been "A small batch" whose pistons lost their head but each individual event happened in Real Time, to a Real person who had spent Real ££££ or Real $$$$ on an Enfield product only to have it fall apart in service......From my time as an RN Marine Engineer comes the American expression}---"Shape up or Ship out" !! and from world of Business in general we have}---- Caveat Emptor !!....
