There certainly appeared to be a real mess in the casting under the valve seat on my one. It meant it was impossible to recut the head for an oversize valve seat.

looks like a lack of fusion .... in a few days I will have the new head, then I will publish photos and updates. For now, thanks to everyone for the advice ...

That's a bread and butter job for The Cylinder Head shop. It's what they do!
Whether the repair would be cheaper than a new head is of course another question entirely.

Hi guys--------- agreed, ric.......With a Vert. miller and Tig Welding almost any repair is possible....but as you say, is the cost worth it over a cheapie used Bullet head ??...........
