I bought a job lot of MT60 Pirelli tyres from a country Honda shop. They were selling to farmers so the bikes needed full knobblies rather than universals they came with. I paid $2.50 each for them and used them both front and back for quite a while. The only issue was that the rear would wear out in around 3000-4000 miles so I was constantly changing tyres on the back. With an old fashioned narrow not QD hub this got to be a pain so I eventually put a new TT100 on the back. Never had any other ssues with them though.

2cvandy, I misread the tyre size and incorrectly assumed the 110/90 19 was a mistype as that size tyre is not listed as being a suitable figment for any modern enfield as far as I'm aware, whereas the 100/90 19 is , as a rear size. I appreciate the post has moved on since my first reply.

On a side note an Avon tyre that's well balanced and kept at the correct pressure for its load can cover over 26,000 miles up at the front of a modern Enfield with still a little more to give :)

One of the downsides of the Avon universal is there is a lot less useable tread when compared against using a dedicated rear tyre. From memory the universal roadrunner has 4mm of useable tread whereas the superior roadrider has 50% more with 6mm and the prices that are not too dissimilar. My 90/90 19 roadrider cost me just under £80 when fitted last Wednesday and will certainly outlast my ownership.
