Waltr, The C5 comes with a pillion seat, certainly as an option. If you have a wife, you have to fit the pillion even if she never gets on the bike. I do have throw-over panniers but prefer the large leather ones I fitted to add-on frames. There are certainly any number of seating, pannier and frame options for the C5 and B5 too. Me, I have removed the springs and rubber bush, mounted the C5 solo seat solidly to the frame for an improved ride. The springs are there for looks and the rubber bush does the work and it pogos so although the bike rides over bumps well, the seat wallows, plus my 230-lb was making the seat bottom out; sorted, no more bouncing.

For attention grabbing looks, it's the C5. It doesn't matter what they're riding, other bikers drool over it so often you have to carry a rag in the tool box.

Waltr, if your going to use the bike as a promo, you'd best wait until your shop gets them in so see what suits you best. The B5 Bullet can be a little drab but sells well. Some of the indian colours look like they've been dragged off a funfair ride. The Chrome is pure bling but looks high maintenance, it is going to stand out from the crowd.

Don't forget you have to run the bike in, especially if you're going to use it as a demonstrator because they vibrate like crazy when new, the the motor is stiff and lacks power until they loosen up. Invest in Loctite.

Have fun, Jeff.

Thanks all. I have been tasked with running in our first demo to get it ready for a silencer and Dobeck Jet Kit.

I really do like the looks of the Chrome but more and more I am attracted to the simplicity of the B5. We will see because it is too late in the year to need to buy a bike, will wait till after winter. and warmer days at work I can use the DEMO.

As far as seat goes I may get an Airhawk to try, a lot of people luv-em.

If you go with a Dobeck (a piggy back device), I have no idea how it manages the engine without adding a dyno map. Hitchcocks' PCV kit does come with dyno-developed maps for the EFI, and about the only company that does have proper maps for RE, and yes it does alter the fuel and ignition timing maps on the ECU. The remapping is important.

Myself, I am also running Dynojet's Autotune AT-200 on top of the Power Commander V. A work in progress still but it does allow me to optimise the air/fuel in real time, and allow me to improve areas outside of Hitchcocks "500 EFI free-flow" map.
(PCV 92018/2 Exhaust system 91130 plus K&N)

The B5 will sell to customers who don't want a 'showy' bike but the C5 is the attractor.

Waltr - Where in the States are you located mate?
What kind of roads do you have around your dealership also? Country back roads or Interstate highways?

Bullets & Classics are better on the country variety but can take long highway jaunts if needs be - Just remember it's not a bike for the speedy!

Live long & prosper!

I know my way around the Dobeck EJK, used them for years and get wide band fuel mixture readings whith there add on kit. I recognize the greater control of the Power Commander but without a dyno not as flexible. I am leaning on doing the carb conversion on my bike anyway.
I am really talking two bikes, one demo bike and a showcase bike that will be mine.

Our shop is in South Central Pennsylvania around 85 miles north of Washington DC. PA is full of two lane roads that can access all directions.

Waltr, as far as I'm aware, Hitchcocks are the only company that have done dyno development for RE bikes on the Power Commander, and supply the PCV pre-mapped. So there's no need to run the bike up on a dyno.

Simply running the Dynotjet Autotune AT-200 on top of the PCV does not improve bike performance. The dyno developed map, the fuel table and ignition table are most important. The AT-200 on my bike is there to control emissions outside of the dyno map (I'm happy with H's map), to regulate reversion popping, and for me it is a bit of a research tool. The fuel and ignition tables have to be set up first and I'm not sure how you would do that with a Dobeck without a dyno set up.

These piggyback devices are not fit and forget, they have to be set up and enabled correctly.

Jefrs,
With respect to our gracious hosts I will not go into the details about the Dobeck EJK other than to say Dobeck was responsible for the Power Commander and the most popular dyno used in setting up the device.
I believe I asked about seat on the B5.

Waltr, yeah well you swung the thread off topic a week ago, threads do have a habit of doing that by themselves ;) I think H mainly object to advertising and selling products. I think discussing alternate products is useful; the Dobeck is a cheaper less sophisticated alternative to the PC5 and good to see they do provide support for the RE EFI.
