This is bad - very bad. It raises some big questions about the development team's test regime and the factory's quality assurance processes. For a rocker shaft to be so badly made it not only causes excessive valve noise, but actually results in "coarse performance", is a serious failure however you look at it.

Every manufacturer makes mistakes, but these days such mistakes are rare. To make two apparently big mistakes like this, on a new but totally conventional engine, reflects very badly on RE.

I ask you this: how the hell did these bikes even get out of the factory door?

It's a great shame, because it reinforces the common prejudice about Indian engineering quality.

Hi, I'm intrigued, do the parts actually fail or is it a noise problem? If its the former perhaps one can inquire into the length of factory testing, if its the latter then the factory inspectors must all be deaf. I wonder if this is a rush to get the bikes on the shop floor before they have been fully tested? Vince

The factory holds a lot of old stock that they sell of and as far as Iam able to tell you still make parts for the old engine bullet as well as frame parts the some stock in places goes back along way as I was able to get parts for my Indian market crusader they had the villiers single in them will ask my relative more information and let you know
