If you are after an individual machine with a specific registration why don't you search for it on the DVLA website instead of drip feeding information?

I feared that might be the case. I don't know when your relative (I'm assuming it was your Dad, that's usually why people ask, or was it you?!) parted with the bike but so many were just scrapped or possibly worse, had their number plates lifted for the Personalised Numberplate business. Any more info available? It's possible the bike is still around but under another number or just stored somewhere and missed off when the new DVLA database started in 1979. If you give the reg, it might help.
