I've never been convinced a sound-deadening helmet or earplugs under a helmet are a good thing - me, I like to hear what's happening around me, not just rely on sight. The fact that pedestrians and horse riders can hear me speak without shouting convinces me the bike is not all that loud although the "90dB at 3250" on the VIN plate is nearly as loud as a rock band on stage.

Have now removed them all, and to my ears there is no change whatsoever in noise level or vibration and the engine looks a whole load better without that "MZ" look.
