Here is the dilapidated remains of my bike, used in the early 1980s. It's still languishing in the shed. I fixed it up with a car battery at the back, bolted onto a frame made of brass curtain rail and a Morris starter motor rubbing on the front wheel for power. A single jump lead connected to the chrome handlebar for GO and onto the rubber bit to knock the power OFF. Bike frame for earth. My brother-in-law got stopped by the police one evening, gliding this pushbike up-hill but I don't think they wanted the paperwork so let him go, in a small shower of sparks.

Its nice but dozing car drivers will never hear you coming its just too quiet it will just give em another excuse not to see or hear you.

I rode a "Zero" electric bike a couple of years ago and have to admin it was great fun, even if it was a bit restricted on range (about 25 to 30 miles), if I come across a clapped out Bullet going very cheap I might consider having a go at a conversion myself.
