Hi LES--- yes, quite so and point taken re}--different types of flashing. Personally I always hated these faults at work---mainly because we were on a bonus system and the diagnostic part would really add-to your final assessed times. Imagine trying to trace this type of fault along the length of a main-line diesel or electric locomotive ? This forum is almost like the NHS Direct service with the patient trying to describe their symptoms. Have you seen my latest posting "Quick--have a look at this " ??? UNBELIEVABLE !!

My dear friends, now that I have regained some composure and in reply, yes some additional work was carried out at service which may have stirred up wiring a bit. A faulty Sprag clutch was replaced with the addition of a Diode, I was informed. But to continue , as advised all relevant connections cleaned and tweaked, all bulbs checked, correct and one replaced as it fell apart on removal.still the problem persists. So, time to chicken out and a call to local dealer who carried out previous work,"yes bring it up, will have a look" I duly arrived and you have probably guessed, NOTHING..ALL WORKING PERFECTLY.! So. am I to assume that this time the Enfield vibes have worked in my favour??.. `Till the next time.

I had this same reoccuring problem with mine. Kept replacing the bulbs, checking the connections and changed the flasher unit. Eventually I rubber mounted the flasher unit and it has seemed to fix the problem. It must just have been the vibration knocking out of kilter.
