The biggest problem with pressing these bushes in is you can very easily crack the case between the mainshaft sleve bearing and the layshaft bush.

brand spanking new!
Image the welder keeps complaining about the poor quality alu, and the honda guru likes this so he can point out the obvious superiority of 1970s honda! Fear not friends, I defended the little one's pride fiercely!

Nice job, he seems to have given you a bit more meat than the original. Do you want to name him?

Well I've named the bike june or jessI don't know the name of the welder, only that hes aviatic. I got him through a friend of mine and Honda guru, so I'm not sure I'm at liberty to reveal! He lives in Belgium anyways.

Absolutely! Now on to those sodding welded swingarm nuts.. What kind of lubricant should I smear between the two outer covers to protect the parts from the elements?

yeah the PO thought it would be a good idea that instead of replacing cheap enfield parts he would just throw a mountain of weld on top of the swingarm nuts...So now I get to spend my time using chisels I bought carefully removing all that weld, since royal enfield reinforced the swingarm mounts so griding them off isnt an option. I mean the two right hand outer covers of the gearbox, theres no oil there and it's accesible for dirt and water, so some sort of lubricant is in order I'd say.
