Ok Adrian I will bite, is the magneto fake? I see the plug wire heading up under the seat to a coil I assume

Norm, it's a BT-H FM1R electronic magneto, it does have a very small external coil, but like a traditional magneto runs totally independently of any of the bike's other electrics. http://www.bt-h.biz/ They don't fit the Bullet crankcase out of the box, as the Indian Bullet crankcases pre-AVL still have the flange to take the SR1 Lucas mag (as retro-fitted by Simon amongst others) but the BT-H can be made to fit! So far it has worked very well. They also do a platform mounted replacement for the Lucas N1 which I could have used. Regards, A.

No problem Adrian.. all is forgiven.

Leon.. that must have made a terrible noise when it blew up.. hard to believe an engine case could shatter like that.

With all that catastrophic mechanical failure going on, the guy with nothing worse than the broken indicator bracket ought to be counting his blessings! When or if I ever get my Fury replica built, it will have a steel conrod and a forged piston, with extra care taken over the timing! Regards,

A.

A few more, with the last of the first batch showing changing a piston at the roadside in Central Australia. This lot shows the mantatory broken sprag clutch, a piston drilled to lower compression on April 1. None of these are from my Bullet( although Norm`s adventures still make me nervous)just posts from the club members.
