Clean up the negative terminal of the battery, and note whether any wires go from that to the frame. As for your lights, that sounds like the AC headlight version... I don't know much more about that system. If it was DC like mine then I would be happier solving it. Someone on here will know more about your headlamp system

I will not be at the bike until later today but ..
I made some notes last night
, with the blue lead at 9 o/clock postion ( H4 bulb ) red at 3.00 o clock the low beam works when the green wire is then fitted to the 12 o clock the high beam works, but when switched/high/to low vice versa it goes off , I hope you can help here ?

Hi Kevin... I might be very wrong here, but I think you might have your wiring mixed up? Definitely check with a multimeter! The low beam is one of the 3 or 9 o'clock terminals (depending on which way round you look!), earth is the 12 o'clock position. If you can tell me what the blue, red and green wires are voltage-wise at each switch position that might help me... and also what positions on the switch they feed.

Agree with Michael, the wiring sounds wrong & we still do not know if the bulb has been checked

Something's wrong here. On my Bullet the low beam is 12 o'clock, earth 9 o'clock and high beam 3 o'clock (looking at it from behind). It uses an H4 bulb. Most of the diagrams you can find on the internet agree with this.

Be careful here 612 You have an AC powered light so there is no earth as in DC models..

The light is powered by AC only when the motor is running and on its own circuit. NO FUSE...
The pilot light in the headlamp is DC powered as is the tiger eyes from the battery and they are earthed...

ED is correct the blue wire is main beam, the green is low/dip beam, and the orange is the common back to the alternator...
