Yes Mark, people worry unnecessarily about types and amounts of oil as your friend with the Manxman found out.
Any oil at all is far, far better than none at all.
Just think how the old total loss engines managed with a squirt now and then.

Thanks for all the replies.
I`ve topped the gearbox up with ep90.
I was just prepping a 60s bullet which I bought earlier on in the year of this forum.
Its taken the best part of 3 months to get the bike registered here in France.
Theres no MOT or road tax,so a one off payment to register 49 euros(£40.83)add on to my main bike insurance 54 euros(£45) for the year fully comp complete with green card and recovery.
Did 20 miles yesterday,she runs like a dream.
Just an aside,in all my bikes,cars and lawn mowers I use 15/40 diesel oil for the engines,never had a problem in plus 30 years.
