Jenks, you say the pipe is on a "classic bike".......what make and model is it on? What diameter is the oil tank stub outlet that you want to fit the pipe onto? Fitting the plastic pipe over PTFE tape is a nonsense. Indeed it will probably not be as easy as it sounds as pushing the tubing over the tape will almost certainly displace the tape. The answer is actually simple. Measure the stub outlet, get a piece of plastic tube of the appropriate diameter. Check it dry to see if it fits snugly. If the pipe is loose then go down one size of pipe. In order to fit it, slide the loose jubilee clip over the pipe, you can then pop the end into a cup of boiling water for a couple of minutes. This will both expand and soften the pipe. Slide the pipe into position and allow it to cool. It will shrink back to size and grip the stub. Then simply position the clip and tighten. If you really mean what you say "plastic oil pipes" (plural) and these are on the supply and return side then do not tape wrap the pipes......it will leak. Do as I have described above or fit the old style compression ferrules onto the pipes if space permits using a compression tool. HTH.
