Ha! I've just answered my own question! Checking the bike today, I discover the standard chain already has a half (or "cranked") link fitted as standard because it has an odd (as opposed to even) number of pitches at 95. So I can gain the extra pitch I think I may need for the 19T sprocket, simply by swapping the half-link for one single link and joining it with two split links (or maybe rivet one of them). So there'll be no half-link anyway!

I nave only just noticed your post.
Working on my bike today I took some measurements.
Electra XS running 19tooth sprocket with one extra riveted link (96 pitches ) with tt100 tyres.
This gives 9 mm clearance each side at swing arm.
You should not have a problem.
