It seems that we forget that these MOT stations have overheads including staff. If these MOT staions can make money, it is called making a profit (not a dirty word). This means that they will continue to trade and employ the likes of you and me. Food for thought!

Grumpa 12 -
Once again you show what a lucky chap you are with a £20 MOT. I paid £28 ("trade", I was told) 3 weeks ago.
I couldn't get anyone (builder, plumber, electrician, etc.) to do anything for £40 per hour, either. Most of them want more than that to simply get out of bed.....

Or even better Bryan, buy pre 1960 and enjoy not loosing value on it as well.-------------- I can't complain my MOT tester is a club member (Jampot club) and does the test for other members at £10.00 with as much Tea/Coffee as you can drink.

Hi Paul----we love you all the more for your little "Grump-ettes"... I wonder how your business-owning friend feels about being FORCED to pay a national min. wage as against doing it voluntary ???--------------- following on from these replies (and comments from my bike-riding mates), I'll be shopping around for a "moped-friendly" tester in my area..... The main bikes can still go to my current, long-term used one , but I was seriously miffed when they blandly charged the same, MAX. price for a 1970's Honda PV50....
