Hi Guys ------------- Norm, have re-fitted head using 20lbs-ft. Useful figure as this coincides with a 240lbs-inch marker on my torque wrench.--------As you say, it "feels" correct as well. Image

Hi Alan R, the cylinder head looks very nice. Did you get it sand blasted or treated at all?
Sorry to break the thread.

Alan, Should have also asked, Have you painted the barrel silver or is it alloy?

Hello JOHN J ----- Thanks for the compliments. The rocker covers were rubbed-down with some 100grit paper, the cyl. head is a spare purchased from our local Royal Enfield dealer in Wem, Shropshire. It had already been shot-blasted. The barrel is an Aluminium one that I de-greased. All of them were given a coat of this paint shown here (I hope !!)Image-------------------------------------------------- I'M NOT SURE IF THE SIZE IS GOING TO BE TOO BIG SO HAVE TYPED IN UPPER CASE.

Got a spanking for this last time I mentioned it but I'm a sucker for discipline. I use a ring spanner when I tighten down head studs. I do it progressively and tight.. Never lost a head gasket or had any tightness related issues.
