thanks- I think I'll get the counterbore machined and use a long sleeve nut and see how it works. if it doesnt, Ill try the longer stem, if that doesnt work I'll get me wallet out and buy Mr H's top yoke!

You can also machine a bit off the top of the alloy yoke too.
