My 350 pulls well (possibly better than most) but having tried, I wouldn't want to regularly take a pillion along. However, having since fitted a 5 speed box, the big gap between 3rd and 4th of the 4 speed is no more, which was the main issue I found on hills.

A 350 is always going to struggle on hills and in headwinds especially two-up.
Having said that it's a more relaxed and "soft" engine and probably less likely to blow up on you.
Cruising speed is more like 10mph down in my experience.
