I've used a GPS unit to recalibrate my latest RE Speedo with permanent marker pen simply because I want to know my true speed on approach to known safety camera van locations of which there are many where I ride.
'Well just ride slower' do I hear from the back? I was once undertaken by a motorcar using the pavement to do so because unknown to me I was actually travelling at 8mph below the posted limit thinking I was just over it - according to my pre recalibrated Pricol RE Speedo.

I'd guess it was PEN 1 S !!!

Eric, yes, I was aware it was a real registration, I think it belonged to Steve Plater ??? the TT rider? Rather a joker apparently!

May have been PEN15 which used to be displayed on a Dark Jaguar saloon in Glenhurst Avenue, Bexley quite a few years back.

Could be, I never actually saw it. I remembered the name, Steve Parrish.
