Got the bike started this morning about third kick.... Nothing untoward to report tick over to adjust and a retorque once its cooled down... Now how do I adjust 5 speed Clutch mechanism?....

Sorted out the clutch after bit of investigation... Latest tale of woe.. I can select first and neutral 1 down and 1 up but I can't go further up the box into second third fourth or fifth gears.. Any ideas as to what might be the cause?...

Sounds like a selector problem - what is the history of the 5 speeder, as it seems to have just 'appeared' in place of a 4 speeder, with little, if anything said about it?

I think the sliding double gears can be accidentally fitted the wrong way around on the gearbox shafts, resulting in problems like this. Also the selectors themselves must be fitted correctly to operate properly. I don't know how far Hitchcocks go into the gearboxes to convert them to right side change, but it might be worth asking them about it?

If this gearbox has kept the factory 1 down and 4 up shift pattern, I would suspect that the selector mechanism itself was probably undisturbed.
