Item number 122435269406 on Ebay. Day and a half to go. Rather an eclectic mix of parts, bit like an eye spy puzzle!

Is that an Amal TT carb on there?

Could be a half-decent buy with a bit of work, presumably the new buyer will have factored in the cost of gearbox/clutch repairs and sorting out the correct type of seat and other cosmetics, (Indian stuff doesn't look so good on later Redditch frames) and hopefully this will keep the winning bid from going into silly money. I think I'd also want to treat it to a gear lever for regular use, too.

Hi, not so straight forward as first appears, m gearbox so different internals, chain line and sprocket. Scissor clutch. These are probably off an Indian chief. Vince

Vince has spotted one big oddity, anyone spotted anything else? At least 2 Ebay bidders fancy it, the price is looking quite good for a strange bitsa!

But Adrian, you'll need to do something else while you're waiting for parts....

(well that's always been my excuse!)

Paul, it's an M series off an Indian Chief or Apache (I think they were also used on.) And you're right, the drive sprocket on those is outboard of the usual Enfield chain alignment to clear the 4 x 16 tyre used on the Chief so that would cause some problems!

Our hosts' own super-whizzy 5 speed boxes can be used on twins as well as Bullets, the catalogue states, though that would most likely double the cost of the bike.

Joking apart, another project would be a bad thing for me right now, Mark. I would then have to take on ANOTHER project for something to do while waiting for parts for the Meteor to arrive, and so on! That way madness lies. It would be nice if someone "in the family" could take this on though, as was the case with the oily rag Meteor Minor recently.
