I had a 59 Tbird iron and a Tiger 90, thats was it - avoided Triumphs but thought the 650 gets good reviews however would consider a 750 for the hell of it. Good ocomment on the sprag debate Adrian!

Try Triumphrat.net. Someone there will likely be interested. The TR7, like most of the single carb Trumpets, is well-regarded though doesn't go for silly money like Bonnies do, even though in the real world they are less hassle and not much slower. If I were you I'd keep the TR7 and flog the RE assuming it's a nice one. Cue barrage of insults about Triumphs......

Err, how about a nice Tina? Tigress much better, with an interesting engine. I agree about the single carb. IMHO this is true of Beezers and Nortons too and probably RE twins too though I've never owned one so that might not be the case. A triple? Not for me; way too finicky and likely to wear out top end quickly but a good one properly put together is wonderful. BTW Bob Currie the journalist and editor ran a TR7 for many years - they are good bikes. Wanna swap for a C5?

I could almost misunderstand my own comment above - with 'single carb', I was obviously referring to the Tiger Cub machines. Nothing wrong with a Bonnie, or Daytona with twin carbs, either !
