a foolproof cable routing diagram or anyone got a a picture of their beautifully routed iron barrel 500cc 90's bullet?
im having mad mad problems. at first it was an incorrect replacment but for sure, this one is identical to the damaged one i removed, but nothing i can do will stop it acting horrendous once its routed. unrouted it and the throttle do the job, once the tank is on or any minor routing it just sticks and plays the fool.
any good guids or diagrams would be greatly appreciated. im aware that routing is pretty critical , nevermore so has it seamed tedious :)

right ------------> the small adaptor which fits into the throttle twist grip opening at the end of the outer cable

Can you compare the two cable lengths side by side? Sounds like the new one (inner or outer) is a different length. The small adaptor must be fitted, otherwise, the cable will not run true and will eventually break at that point. It must be found before you can proceed.

what does this adaptor look like? i dont think it was installed on the last cable either, but it seamed to get me through the last 12months okay. now i am confused. i cant find any trace of this adaptor on any similar looking 1992 500cc.

thanks for this link, i overlooked it earlier, i will give it another go.

oh my gosh, thats pretty clear right there :) leon novello and papa smurf im sorry its on you guys to point out the blummin obvious to me. i had such a completely different idea of 'adapter'.
im an idiot, i presume that adaptor gives the extra .6 of a cm that would stop the throttle opening.
it must have been on there. defo gone now, i work on my bike in a music venue between gigs, swept, moped and danced on a couple of times since. arghhh, is there any point bothering the old boys round our way that fix nothing but 1000cc street fighter bikes and triumph bonnevoyages or is it a strictly enfield only shaped little piece of bugger?

Should be an easy to find part not just confined to Enfields, it is just one of many Bowden cable fittings.
