Gentlemen, I have a 2008 500 Electra x with an annoying electrical problem.
First of all I would add that I have been using it in kick mode because of the usual Sprag clutch failure.
So, the battery is fairly new and fully charged, but not a sign of any life when I turn on the ignition switch, no lights, horn , spark , Nothing.
Can any one help by advising me where to start looking, Short circuit possibly or component failure ?

Check the fuse boxes under LH side cover. Even if the fuses are intact their connects might not. Ground cable to frame next.

Maybe worth a look at the wires on the ammeter.

if you're following up Bet's suggestion pay close attention to where the wiring loom flexes around the steering head on the frame, my battery to ammeter wire snapped there. The plastic insulation can become brittle with age.

It is not unknown for the ignition switch to fail.

Thank you guys, I shall follow up these tips shortly, one thing I have noticed, having checked my battery condition which is good, would I expect to see a spark when connecting earth to frame, I know I should connect negative earth first but I assumed this was an initial check I could perform. ?

check where cable goes through rear mudguard, it chafes thro.to check disconnect rear light loom at connection under seat and try starting
