I fitted one of these to a mates bike as part of another adaption. In my experiance the ignition curve is not properly suited to the enfield twins. The electrex system reaches full advance at around 4500-5000 rpm. Meaning that on our twins it is never properly advanced. I set ours as it said in the book but the bike developed no power. I had to advance the timing by a fair few degrees at stationary to get her to even think about running properly. But it means that she is prone to kick back when starting. Also found that you need to change bulbs to led style as it doesnt provide a decent charge for extended night running. Ed

The units are designed for Norton Commandos, they need abit of work to fit. ie new mounts and spacers etcbut will fit in the standard 56 onwards twin cases they supply both self powered ignition and alternator. and work very well giving good starting and good charging output. I ve fited these on quite a twins from early super meteors to mk 1a interceptors ive also run them on bullets of various sizes and work well on them to. andy
