On my way back from Dubai next spring. Bringing my GT with me. Will I need to fit lambda sensor and new ecu or will it pass the emission test? I'm fairly fingers positive with mechanicals. Any advice please.

thanks for that I was under the impression that I had to make sure it had an mph speedo, left dipping headlight and pass an emmision test for approval to be registered in UK. I notice that the EU spec bikes have an O2 sensor and a different ECU to the one I have been riding.

You didn't mention any of that! Yes, MPH speedo (can use stick-on but must be under dial,) LH or centre dip headlight etc. You'll need to apply for Single Vehicle Approval I think, have a look on the DVLA website. Is it actually worth importing, I mean with other costs could you sell it to another ex-pat there and buy one here?

Thanks for replies. It's just going in my container so that's no problem. It has under the needle mph and a left dipping headlight. I know about the approval thing I just wondered if anyone had any experience re the emissions on a bike with no oxygen sensor and a non EU ecu.
I'll bring it back because I just like it and I guess one way or another it will pass the tests needed. I might even have to put it on carbs. I was hoping there may be somebody who knows.😀

Go to the DVLA website, then find Single Vehicle Type Approval, you need section 7, Motorcycle Single Vehicle Approval which will tell you how to go about it. Be prepared for a lot of reading! Others on this site have done it and report that apart from the bureaucracy they say it's not too hard. I wouldn't make any changes until you've got the bike here. Make sure you keep any registration papers and receipts from when you bought and used it before.

I'd be interested to know how this version compares to the UK market models. Is it as asthmatic or does the different spec. make a big difference.
