Just to clarify, I do select the proper legal fonts on a black & silver motorshow custom plate for my Inters. I don't fancy getting pinched for the little figures you would have to use on the standard type Inter rear plate. The MOT might pick them up, as well as old bill.
"H" is of course correct for 1969-70 but the "TTU" prefix was only ever issued in Chester in October 1976 on an "R" plate, according to my Glass's Guide. TTU***H will only ever be found on an age-related vehicle plate issued by DVLA. TTFN Jack

I got the Constellation running today after having to strip the top end to properly anneal the new solid copper head gaskets the PO had fitted, replace the incorrect cylinder head nuts for the correct long shouldered type and helicoil one of the rocker feeds in the r/h head. Loads more compression now. Burned off a lot of oil on first start but cleared quickly although not so quick that I nearly choked...(My wife wasn't pleased, must remember not to try this again when she has a day off!) Will give it a test run over the weekend if dry. Next project will be to see if the newly acquired S1A will run. Oh, and finish the wiring on the S2 and a couple of other jobs,

Latest on the V5c, I STILL haven't got one and the registration number doesn't show up on the online system. Spoke again to the nice lady at the DVLA who promises me she has issued a new V5. I won't bore you with all the details but this is entirely the DVLA's fault, the wording on their forms is poor, the guidance notes are sketchy on some important points and they sent back the forms twice for me to correct (as I said, not my fault,) when they could have just gone through all the paperwork and sent it for revision just once. The paperwork required is really quite simple but their system is a mess. I know some folk have no problems at all but I do seem to have got the dunce department! Note: The REOC is revising it's guidance for Members applying for a new registration and I've added my tips, this will be on the website soon.
