Just too Quote you on something (( The Engineer suggested wet-sumping though I carried out an oil change and run her with 2 litres of oil as suggested by Hitchcocks advice on wet-sumping,)) If you have just put 2 Litres into the engine it will be way above the full mark reduce oil in the oil tank to half way between the Low & the High mark on dip stick see if that helps.

Please correct me if necessary but when I had wetsumping issues years back I think the smoke was white and extremely, unmistakably, white and plentiful. Have never had wetsumping issues since always carefully leaving the engine on tdc, even when slightly overfilled with oil and left for approx 3 years unstarted.

Blue smoke is burned oil white smoke is unburned oil.

or diesel if you've made a bit of a mistake refuelling
