Calv just a little bit of advice, if funds are short don't buy an Enfield, if things go bad as they often do with Enfields you will be in big trouble, they can end up a very expensive toy, just warning you, the romance of an Enfield can wear of very quickly with a buggered big end

Norm, I think you may be overlooking the price of engine parts and rebuilding costs for Japanese, German, American and Italian motorcycles. I think calv's main problem would be finding a 350 bullet in good working order for that price. My 350 is in good working order but looks a bit rough and I certainly wouldn't sell it on for £750.

Rusty, sure parts are expensive for the bikes you mention but they will do 10 times the mileage compared to an Enfield before they need these parts. Enfields are an expensive toy whatever way you look at it

May be able to push a grand for one soon ,il just keep looking and saving.I have a family member who builds enfield s,so any problems mechanically I should be ok.
