Hi Lucho: Try tilting the screen backward and forward, leave the screws loose enough to move it, then ride on a quiet road, hold you hand up behind the top of the screen and move it back towards your face. You will feel the direction of the wind and be able to tilt the screen back and forth to adjust the wind flow. Then tighten the screws when you find the best angle.
As others have said, the best height is just below eye level; you must be able to see over the top of it; there is nothing worse than having to look through a rain spattered screen.

Lucho (and all). I fitted one of those windscreens (PN 200312) to my 1996 535cc Classic. Cruising at ~100kph (60-65mph) I find it fine, and I’m just over 6ft tall. I have it setup so that the base of the screen just touches the centre top of the casquette. The winds blow continually so strongly here in the Western Cape often exceeding 30knots (35mph50kph) that the screen was constantly flexing and I was concerned at possible breakage. So I fitted a rubber bung at the bottom of the screen and if it flexes far enough to touch the casquette, at least it hits flexible rubber not a sharp edge. It will mount higher, but I don’t need it higher and anyway there’s so much flex on the arms that it would wobble madly. BTW I hate the stupidly designed single-bolt clamps. The opposite end from the bolt barely fitted and wouldn't hold so I had to ‘adjust’ them with a file to make for a better fit - now its fine and I trust it.
Compared to my other bike with windshield (BMW F650GS) this is wonderful! Yes, there is still buffetting, but so much better than without.

Hi Lucho. Like Thack I had problems with my Suzuki DL 650. I fitted RMA varioscreen and it completely cured the buffeting. Although I don't think they do one for an Enfield they do supply a clip on adjustable extender foil. Hope this may help. Regards Mick.

Interesting one this, you can get around it by equalising the pressure either side of the screen. Friends with a H-D and another with a New Bonnie have both experimented with holes around the headlight area with some success.

Finally I got some time to play with the windshield. Following your advice I tried to raise the windshield as much as I could. So I got a more vertical placement and gain some clearance between windshield base and headlamp. I think this clearance allowed more air to pass between headlamp and windshield base. This isn't the same as a deflector, but achieves a noticiable improvement over prior condition: There's no turbulence between 40-50 mph, and after that it's very week. Vibrations also reduced, althought there's still some flexing crossing with trucks, but I think this shouldn't be a problem considering the use of screen will be temporary, only for travelling. So this is a happy ending for the story. Again, thanks for the feedback and have a Happy New Year!!
