Sacrilege is not possible on these bikes, they lend themselves to extensive and relatively cheap mods. Go for it and experiment! My recent 50s style 500 classic is a slow and ponderous but comfortable and rorty blast. Almost like my former 59 T'bird, but with just one cylinder. Good luck.

At the end of the day with my Electra the only way anybody could pick it as one was the primary case and the rego papers

Hi Ed,

When I was fabbing up my Enfields rear mudguard I mounted a bracket that attached to the chainguard fixing bolt. It wasnt very strong but it was only temp so it didnt really matter at the time. Im sure you can make a stronger one mind, so it might be worth looking at. In the end I actually welded a small mounting plate for my rear mudguard to bolt directly onto, but I'm also using a front mudguard on the rear which fits (just). As to making it a hard tail using the suspension mounts I have seen examples on line (ebay) but I'm not sure how it would effect the bike.
Hoping this works and you can actually see a picture of what my bike looks like.

The small mounting plate was welded directly onto the Swinging arm, forgot to mention that in my first post.

Hi Tzan

The bars were custom made and the electrics, controls (internal throttle cable) were all custom made to suit - although the levers are Doherty items from our hosts.

The whole shebang is being changed, over the winter, so bars, controls , internal throttle, etc would be up for sale if anyone's interested (1" bars, btw).

Very nice, by the way, Skaltar.

Looks like an OEM Pup/Fox.

Bet you won't be hardtailing it with the Brooks seat! :-)

Thx Johnny,

I took a lot of inspiration from the OEM guys, just love the way their machines look. Its still work in progress but its getting there, Ive been working at it for almost nine months now and its almost done. That Cafe Racer that you posted looks real nice, I have to agree the hard tail suspension mods would have looked better in tube/ oval.
As to hard tailing my bike that's def a no, the Brooks saddle isnt too bad when you get use to it. Firm is what I would like describe the ride as being, but then I dont cover too many miles so the saddle and my arse have not really been tested to the limit yet.
