I'm always amazed by people that manage to build amazing things in their sheds but sometimes they don't get it quite right.Image

I can't edit these posts once I've discovered I've cocked it up. I'm giving up trying to post photos.

Well done, thank you for that. I'm having a bad morning, everything I've touched, undone or moved on it has been bodged in some way. A jubilee clip was holding the exhaust together, centre stand has been welded up by someone who couldn't weld, kick start shaft is bent, spring snapped and then the points, are the screws that hold the cap on supposed to be perpendicular to the crankcase ? The only ones I've seen have been. I'm struggling a bit but that's half the fun isn't it ?

Without a condenser i guess it could work for a while but would soon burn out the point faces..

No advance/retard fine adjustment.. can only hope the auto advance is still operational..

Really the question is WHY? These parts are readily available second hand, think all those boyers fitted over the years..

I can see the reasoning for making something for say a flying flea where parts are just not available, but this defies logic imho..

The ATU mechanism appears to be locked solid by the looks of that non standard stud, nut and washer holding the points cam in place. As far as a condenser goes, it is possible that one could be mounted remote from the points housing, but doubtful judging by the workmanship seen here.

Went back and read Scalybacks tutorial on getting pics up, it was easier once I'd found my reading glasses, cheers. Anyway enough of that, Now you can see the screw holes. I've got a back plate, points and condenser coming.
