Hi Pict. My original TLS front brake was woeful, and so eventually I got around to fitting Mr H's British shoes, and also a heavy duty cable. I also made sure that the brake was as perfectly balanced as I could get it. After all that I was rather disappointed with the results, and thought it was a waste of money. But as the shoes have slowly bedded in the brake has become very good (by comparison to how it was). I don't think these TLS brakes will ever be as good as a decent disc brake but it does now stop the bike reasonably well and doesn't make me feel like I'm not about to become part of the car in front at any moment. Of course I'll never know whether the old shoes would have performed just as well with the same amount of fettling and the heavy duty cable.....
