Cheers Norm. We'll see eh? Don't really know how to test the loom unless it's visually tested, so it's a wing and a prayer instead. Sadly our hosts haven't stocked a loom for a while, so I don't even know the cost

Hi Michael, don't even think about a new loom because no 2 are ever the same, it would be much easier to repair what you have. I hope you don't have to because there is about 300 wires in the new looms around the ECU unit. I hate the thought how these looms will look in a few years

Cheers Norm, good tip - even though ot seems like more work I will happily post a picture of various bits of my loom if you want to see what they look like now!! Picture the thought - a big melty pot of rust, some copper and lots of burnt insulation where once 8 wires used to exist separately but now are conjoined:)

Hi guys------------ Bad news on that puncture..Have you thought of giving this stuff a try ?--------- --------- http://2wheeljunkie.co.uk/motorcycle-ty ... 41587.html -----( worked for me on several occasions)-------------- Yes please, a photo or two of the damaged loom would be interesting......I would second NORM's idea to repair the existing wiring....Fitting a new loom is not as easy as it might as it might first appear......If you can make use of shrinkwrapping both individually and then as a final protective layer, that would help.....Also use solder rather than crimped joints for electrical continuity...Good luck !!

JUST A THOUGHT HERE MICHAEL just take all the loom off buy some wire and some good connectors and make a new loom its not as hard as it may sound i have done this on many occasions and you surely could not make a worse job than our indian friends !the efi loom that i have had the disspleasure to disect was a total bag of shite! just replace the lot the results will be electrifying! atb paul.

Hi Paul, might be easy to replace the loom on a pre EFI Bullet but the amount of wires coming from the ECU is enough to scare the crap out of anybody who looks at it. Not something for the faint hearted I can assure you

HI NORM ive looked at these looms very closely as ive spent no end of time putting wrongs right on jonahs bike ,if it had been mine i would have made a loom, done loads of jap looms in the past as my old tutor used to say its only a few wires!!!and engines well they are just nuts & bolts,atb paul.

Loom will wait until next week... but today's update is a minor success. I just replaced a tyre with tyre irons (the paltry 5 inch ones supplied in the EFI toolkit). Never done that before, but have now. Bike will now ride again in daylight until I transplant the loom cancer.

Hi Paul, making a new loom is just time consuming, usually takes me a couple of days to do one and that is not an EFI that has that bucket load of extra wires
