I accept that the floating bush big end is problem if/when oil pressure drops (stripped oil pump worm) but I don't think we have as many main bearing and broken piston issues on the old iron engines in the UK as you do. Why is that - is it the temperature out there, or something else?
Honestly though, as much as I like my BMW the truth is that I can't wait to buy the new Conti GT - how do you think they will be accepted out in AUS Norm?
