Hi All,

I recently replaced my two and a half year old Bonnie T100 for a new Bullet G5, [I do like my chrome bling - you should have seen the Bonnie!!] I also purchasing a nice big box of 'bolt on' bits from our host to add to it and thought that joining the forum - especially with a Royal Enfield - was the right way to go.

I am also desperate for a bit of tech. help on a couple of aspects of the bike, namely flasher unit/strange indicator wiring/useless tell tale

So a big hello from yours truely, down here in Perth Western Australia where I moved to from Hertfordshire some 25 plus years ago.I did send a perhaps far to large, new topic 'Hello All' a few weeks back that doesn't appear to have made it to the message board, hence my 'Second Time Lucky'!!

Hello Retro,

Writing to this site is the way to go. You will get helpful advice and just reading the threads you will gain a lot. Flasher telltale is useless, except perhaps after dark. My advice is to buy our Hosts audbile warning device for less than 40 pounds. A life saver in my experience. I bought a new classic two years ago after 4 years riding the last model before the EFI.
The EFI was a nice bike to ride and an improvement in so many ways. Apart from fitting an 18 tooth sprocket it remained quite standard and for 8,000km was totally reliable, used no oil, between services and averaged 3.5L/100km. Wherever it was parked always drew lots of interest and it was useful to be able to tell the Enfield story. However, I got fed up with lack of power, vibration, mechanical engine noise, despite hydraulic valve lifters and I recently sold it to a twenty something enthusiast as his first bike. Very sad to see the empty space in my garage next to my Piaggio X10. The twist to the story is that as soon as it had gone I started searching for a replacement and lo and behold I finally chose a T100 Bonneville, though with very little bling. Strange, but I have several friends in Switzerland, where I live, who have made the same switch, to T100. I am far from being a speed freak, but the overtaking manoeuvre will be a lot safer.

You are not alone. I had a 2006 carb bonnie, then a Thruxton (loved that bike); then a mag wheel bonnie. All tricked up, all fast, too fast. Now I have a vibrating like an alcoholic on acid Bullet 500 that has broken down more times than a depressed banker. Would I go back, No. Nothing like fiddling a bit.

Should have kept the Bonnie WA is no place for a Bullet lol although the Club does have a few members there
