Hi Matey ---------- at the bottom of the forks you will see a deep nut (18mm ring spanner on my 2005 Classic 500)---place a drain tray on each side, remove the nuts and oil should flow out ( will probably be black )--put the nuts back on a couple of turns, then pump the forks a few times---- they'll feel "soggy" --- to get the residue out. Now re-tighten the nuts, maybe replace the washer as well ??... At the top of the forks you will see a chromed, slotted screw head. Remove this (R/H thread) and carefully pour in the new oil----making sure that both forks have the correct AND same amount !! (most important for balanced action )-- Check the o-rings then replace the screw.... Give the forks a good bouncing to make sure the oil cartridge has filled with oil...Go for test ride..If you can see a shadow, watch the front wheel. It should be moving up & down more than before, absorbing those bumps rather than transmitting them up to you !!... Finally, check the "Grin-factor" in your mirror !!! ---------- Also, look in "Tech Notes" on the L/H column on this page.
