Now we know what you look like Paul!....looks pretty good and sounds very nice....I note the thermal wrap on the exhaust.....what go faster internals does it have in it?....BTW...could it be the extended neutral finder lever is causing the problem of finding neutral?...It seems the long swing of it and its momentum is flicking it straight past neutral into gear..

Hi Les,
That's Dave 'Trident' on board, I merely assist in the finding of neutral! The gearbox and neutral finding are not bad, but Dave has a Velocette Venom racer, so he is used to a softer touch on the gearlever, methinks. That neutral lever is the owner's idea - but at least that skull on the end of it is fairly accessible for finding neutral by hand if required. The exhaust system, bandaging and inlet manifold are all the owner's ideas and work.
Not many 'go faster' parts fitted, just competition valves and springs and big oil pumps, with Samrat rockers modified for faster, easier scavenge oil flow.
My work includes the usual basics for these engines - lightened, rebalanced crank, shortened barrel giving 8.5:1 C.R. on its' European piston and ported head and that's about it, really.
Regards, Paul.

It's a beautiful machine, the only thing i'm not keen on is the twin headlights, otherwise I love the look of it, very 50's bobber / early chopper.

Nice one BW-----sounding OK. What's the steam railway level crossing ?? Is that the Ffestiniog ?? ---- I know you're in Welsh Wales, somewhere.

Hi Alan,
Two answers in one here - the railway is the 'Heart of Wales' line connecting Swansea to Shrewsbury. I live in one of the Station houses in Llanwrda and Kevin [owner of the bike in the video] took that film of the 'double header' steam train accross the line from my house, after we spotted it from the A40 whilst travelling back from Llandeilo in the van. We just got there in time, as can be seen in that video !
The 'Asbo' name only came into being after I had already built a couple of tuned 500 and 350 Bullet engines. I had my own scruffy 500 in trail trim which was to be a winter 'hack', but rumbling noises prompted me to strip and tune it [there is a blog about it on the M.B.R. site] and starting it up outside a hardware shop in Llandovery one time, it made such a sudden bark from the exhaust that a few people in the street jumped and one shouted and swore. I made the comment in my blog that this bike might end up getting an 'asbo', and the rest, as they say, is history !
Regards, Paul.

Cheers BW, I'm just having a good chuckle over that one. Next year--and with your permission, maybe myself and a few of the local "Classic" lads could do a ride-out and visit ?? But I would fully understand your privicy if not. ( 2-off BSA B40 Ex-WD, (1 with a unique trailer)--and myself on my No1 Bullet). Yes, it's the same Alan R on the MBR forum as well !!!!

Hi Alan,
'Bulleteers' always welcome here, just might be a bit out of the way for some, though. Just give me enough notice to get the kettle on !
