Now that the mornings are starting to feel a bit autumnal, the trusty old steed might not want to know first thing in the morning. An old trick that still works is to warm up the sparking plug. Whip out the plug, and use a blow lamp (if you've got one - if not the gas stove) and warm up the electrolyte end of the plug until it's too hot to touch (but don't go overboard - use your common). Then using gloves screw it back in the bike asap and she'll probably fire up first time. Probably.
